Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

Yes!  We are welcoming new patients for both primary care (general medicine) and for consultation care (specific issues especially involving natural medicine.)

Our practice uses a “direct pay” system by which patients pay for their medical services on the day they receive them. Each patient will then be given an itemized billing statement with all the information needed to submit to their insurance company for reimbursement.

1. An updated list of your medications and supplements. (vitamins & herbs)

2. A list of the questions and issues you would like to address

3. A form of payment (credit card, check, or cash).

There is convenient underground parking in our building. The entrance to the garage can be entered from 5th Avenue, Washington Street and the University off ramp from 163 south.  When you are in the garage, please make sure to use the Blue Medical Office Elevators to get to our office.  We will validate your parking so there is no charge for the time of your appointment.

Our office is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00am – 3:00pm. Friday 8:00am – 11:00am. We are closed Saturday and Sunday.

Billing Questions

The office will provide you with the necessary documentation to submit to your insurance company.

Dr. Bressler is not a “contracted provider” or “in-network provider” for any insurance companies.  Virtually all insurance companies allow patients to see an “out of network” provider and reimburse some portion of the bill.

Reimbursement rates vary greatly between insurance companies but typically will cover all or some of the cost of the visit.

There is no co-pay in the Direct Pay system.  You pay only for the services you receive.  Your deductible is set by your specific health insurance plan and affects what they will reimburse you.

Yes.  Just let us know at the time of your evaluation when you come in for your physical.  You will still pay us at the time of the visit and submit your documentation of your physical to your insurance company.

Definitely.  Patients with Medicare, Medi-Cal or Tricare are very much welcome to our practice.  Dr. Bressler is an “Ordering and Referring Physician” within the Medicare system. This means that the tests he orders and the referrals for X-rays or procedures are covered by Medicare. Unfortunately, because of the policies of these programs, the bill for our services cannot be submitted for reimbursement.
